What’s a First Look? | Idaho Wedding Photography
Did you know I also occasionally shoot weddings in the Rexburg, and Idaho Falls area? While newborns are my absolute favorite, I also shoot weddings and seniors too. This wedding was in the Rexburg, Idaho area and we had a blast exploring and celebrating this couple’s love. Between their excitement and joy for this next chapter in life, and being outdoors, it was an absolutely great day in Rexburg Idaho! So, what’s a first look and why should you make it apart of your Idaho wedding? I’m going to. break it down for you.
What’s a First Look?
A first look is an event that happens on your wedding day, generally between the soon to be husband and wife, but sometimes brides invite their family members to be involved as well. It’s the first time both partners see one another in their wedding attire moments before they say, “I do!”
We’ll find somewhere quiet and intimate for your first look to happen so it’s just the two of you together. We want it to be intimate and romantic before the chaos of the wedding day begins. First looks generally get pretty emotional as the reality of the day begins to set in. First looks have become incredibly popular in the last few years, and have become a staple in Rexburg, Idaho weddings.
Why Should I Have a First Look?
Like I mentioned before, it’s a quick and intimate moment between you and your partner before the day begins. It’s time for you to dance together, and have those moments with just the two of you. We can have your first look, you can sit together and relax, breath together, taking in the day and your surroundings. After this moment, your wedding day will go by in a flash. Take the time to enjoy the day, be in the moment, and take it all in before the day is over before you know it.
Who is Going to be at my First Look?
The beauty of a first look is you get to decide who and where it is. Like I mentioned previously, some couples opt for just the two of them to be there along with a photographer (me!) to capture the moments where the magic happens. While some brides like to have a first look with their parents, as a way to honor them, and have those last moments as just their daughter, and not someone’s wife quite yet. I always suggest making sure you have at least 10-15 mins with just you and your partner during your first look. Take the time to be together.
