Best Newborn Photography Color Palettes
One of the most common questions I get when it comes to the color palette of the session. Should you stick to seasonal colors? Should you plan the color of your newborn’s photography to match your baby’s nursery? Should you even be concerned about color?! Lucky for you, in the end your little bundle is going to be just as adorable in cream as he would be in green. However, I have made a list of what I find to be the best color palettes for newborn photography.
White and Gold
Is there anything more heavenly than a baby wrapped in a white swaddle? Yes! A baby wrapped in a white swaddle with flecks of gold. This color palette is both simple and divine, giving. I love how the white draws all your attention to your baby’s sweet features, while the gold brings a fun and interesting element to the photo.
Neutrals and Green
A color palette that is really trending in 2021 has to be neutrals. Browns, tans, beiges, and creams are so gorgeous for any type of photo, but with newborns it is a special kind of beautiful. Then add a little greenery in, and you have the perfect backdrop for your perfect babe.
Pink and Cream
I can never decide what I like more, a bonnet or a bow! But, I do know that for my little newborn girls my favorite color palette is pink and cream. This color combination is a classic for a baby girl, but can go so many different ways. Right now a muted pink with a rich cream is super popular for newborn photography and I am here for it!
Yellows
Newborn babies are a little ray of sunshine into our lives! Which is why I adore using yellow in newborn photography. It is such a happy color and looks gorgeous with a light background. I especially love how this newborn color palette is perfect for any little girl or boy!
White with Texture
If you are wanting to include a variety of props or accessories, then a pure white background is for you! I love the freedom you get with a white background. It really is the perfect canvas for whatever style you are trying to achieve with your newborn photos. A fun trick with whites is to add textures to create a more interesting backdrop and some warmth to your newborn photos.
Blues and Greens
Blues and greens are a beautiful combination when done right! It is the perfect cool contrast to the warmth of your newborn and really brings a light and refreshing atmosphere to your newborn photos. If you choose to use deeper and richer blues and greens your baby will look extra snuggly and cozy!
